Volunteers Needed – Celebrate World Cup Spirit…Remember Gaza

I’m copying and pasting this volunteer opportunity from my friend Rand, see details below:

Building on the spirit of the World Cup, a group of volunteers are working with the Palestinian Legal Aid Fund, a global legal aid fund for Palestinians in need, to remind people of the need to support Gaza by utilizing the crowds of soccer fans during the 2010 World Cup Semi Finals; Tuesday and Wednesday July 6th & 7th.

We have contacted 7 venues that have agreed to give us the opportunity to utilize halftime to:
1- show short videos about:
a- The Palestinian Legal Aid Fund’s Fund Raising Campaign – Hold Israel Accountable Video
b- Testimonies from Palestinian Legal Aid Fund activists that were aboard the Flotila last month
2- Hand out A4 flyers to the crowds.

These places are:
1. The Roof at Upstairs Downstairs
2. Diplomat
3. Bianca
4. La Calle
5. The courtyard
6. The Stadium/orthodox club
7. Sage

We need volunteers to do the following (Two volunteers per venue per semi final game):
– Introduce the videos by reminding people of the need to support Gaza and introduce the Palestinian Legal Aid Fund (text will be provided)
– Help start the videos (videos will be provided)
– Hand out the flyers (will be provided)
