Things we take for granted

Yesterday I went to give Abu Kayed his late rent. His son Mohammad came down to take the envelop. But Mohammad seemed very pale and sad. I asked him, what is wrong?

He told me: Do you swear you won’t tell anyone especially my parents?

I said: ofcourse, boyscout promise

He said: We don’t have food at home, nothing!

I said: don’t worry, it will be solved soon (stupid answer ofcourse)

I added: Just concentrate on your school (another stupid comment)

He said: But Baba can’t buy us copy books and books how will we study?

I couldn’t say anything!

I tod him: Don’t worry, I will get you some tomorrow, just don’t tell your dad.

Mohammad walked away with his head down!

Gosh, how can I sleep tonight? I know Kids don’t lie.

Today, I went to Carrefour, bought 5 books, 5 copybooks, 5 pencil cases, crayons, pencils, colors, erasers, rulers, sharpeners, coloring books, box of clay and 5 choclate bars.

Passed by Abu Kayed home, gave the gifts and 65JDs (the only thing I had) hoping that they soon can have some chicken and meat for a change.

5 minutes later, Mohammad, Abed and Omran, the youngest called to thank me. I don’t want anyone to thank me. But I know I can sleep tonight knowing that there are 5 happy kids going to bed with a full stomach!

Experience it and you will know what I mean 🙂

(Note: picture with Mohammad was taken last summer when I first met the family)

It is these gestures that change lives. I am sure you left a great impact on that family.

Do share how the rest of us can contribute and help.

Keep it up and God bless you 🙂

This is a beautiful gesture, prove that you have a big soul and anyone can count on you when he is in trouble. I appreciate that, barely you find people like you.
