On the 29th of August, the Education Program students had a group discussion regarding all the recent changes and events taking place in the Arab world and their personal perspectives on it. The session took place at Ruwwad, our long time partner. These general sessions held with the students aim at developing the students communication and presentation skills. It also aims at connecting them to the social, economic and political issues that surround them to support them in growth on all levels.
Under My Olive Tree Education Program Students also attended the “Active Citizens Programme” given by Takaful and the British Council for four days between the 15th and the 18th of September 2013.
Active Citizens is a non-profit programme that promotes community cohesion and improvement through civic engagement or volunteering in around 30 countries one of which is Jordan. It aims to increase the contribution of community leaders towards achieving sustainable development.
The training was given over 4 days and focused in each day on one aspect of becoming an active citizen. The training included a lot of group work and discussions as well as exercises. Training was given by Takaful trainer Hussein AlSarabi.
